The Two Fatalities Revealed in the Ivy League School Attack as Police Press On With Hunt for Gunman.

Both young individuals who died in the weekend's violent attack in Providence had tributes paid to them on Monday – amid a widespread hunt for their shooter carried on following the freeing by authorities in Rhode Island of the single suspect questioned in the case.

Remembering Ella Cook

Ella Cook, a second-year student from Alabama, was called “an incredible, grounded, faithful, bright light”, per the Cathedral Church of the Advent, Birmingham, which offered condolences for her at a gathering on Sunday.

She served as second-in-command of Brown’s branch of College Republicans of America, the group said. Karoline Leavitt also expressed condolences publicly, remarking: “Words cannot express. Keeping in mind her family and friends, particularly her mother and father.”

The Second Victim

The other deceased individual was MukhammadAziz Umurzokov from Uzbekistan, an Uzbek national in his initial year at the Ivy League university, according to relatives.

His name was verified by the foreign office of Uzbekistan.

“He was incredibly kind, funny, and smart. He had big dreams of entering the field of neurosurgery and assisting patients,” his sister, Samira Umurzokova said in a memorial statement.

What Happened

An additional nine individuals were injured in the violent event in the engineering building of Brown’s campus in Providence, during the university's examination week.

Authorities said by the end of Sunday that a man aged 24 detained in a police operation at a Hampton Inn about approximately 17 miles from the university earlier in the day was released from custody.

“We have a murderer out there,” stated Peter Neronha, Peter Neronha.

He added, “Occasionally a probe goes down a path, and then you must reassess and head another way, and that is the current situation over the last day or so.”

Community Anxiety

Providence’s mayor, Brett Smiley, acknowledged: “It is expected to provoke new worry for our public”.

The assailant discharged a weapon inside a classroom in the engineering facility on Saturday, discharging in excess of 40 shots from a 9mm handgun, a police source told the media outlet.

Police that searched the inn seized two handguns and magazines when the suspect was detained, as was reported.

Condition of the Injured

The US ambassador, Jonathan Henick, said he was “deeply saddened” by Umurzokov’s death in a statement. “We offer our heartfelt sympathies to his relatives, friends, and fellow students and grieve for of his promising future.”
