Performer Refutes Anti-Vaccine Position Following Narrating Controversial Pandemic Film
The acclaimed actor has provided his narration to a feature-length documentary that questions the safety of vaccines and commends one-time health official Robert F Kennedy Jr.
The Documentary's Disputed Foundation
Named "Plague of Corruption," the film is based on a bestselling book written by a controversial scientist, who rose to infamy during the pandemic for claims that the illness was linked to a bad strain of the seasonal immunization.
Her collaborator, a producer, has also written books with conspiracy-prone radio host a known commentator. Heckenlively wrote online praising Neeson's participation in the documentary.
A Strong Rebuttal
Representatives for Liam Neeson have provided a statement pushing back against implications that he supports anti-vax sentiments.
"Many acknowledge that corruption can exist within the drug industry, but that must not be equated to opposition to vaccines," the comment reads. "Liam is not, and is not, anti-vaccination. His considerable work with the UN children's agency reinforces his enduring support for public-health initiatives."
The response added that the performer did not shape the project's messaging and that questions about its claims are best addressed to the creators.
Key Assertions In the Film
In the film, the narration provided by Neeson makes several strong claims:
- It claims that pro-immunization voices have called for "unconditional submission" to government bodies.
- It argues that "medical science has become deeply politicized."
- Robert F Kennedy Jr is featured stating, "The big problem with vaccines is that they are not safely tested."
- The film takes aim at Covid lockdowns, arguing they caused mental anguish that resulted in thousands of lives.
- Regarding pandemic shots, it mentions a report that they were "hurriedly approved" and seen as "dangerous experiments."
Previous Controversy and Current Debates
It also references a 2004 BBC documentary about HIV drug testing on children, which was subsequently the focus of a correction by the broadcaster for editorial breaches.
In recent weeks, the political figure directed the national health agency to alter its long-held position that there is no connection between vaccines and autism spectrum disorder. This assertion is echoed in the film, despite a new report from the global health body stating no such link has been found.
An Earlier Record of Endorsement
Standing in contrast to the documentary's message, Neeson has previously shown strong support for vaccines in his position as a UNICEF goodwill ambassador.
In 2022, he referred to vaccines as "an extraordinary achievement," noting that "The discourse about vaccines in recent years has forgotten how much good they have done... It is perhaps one of the biggest human endeavors in human history."
"Plague of Corruption" ends with Neeson's narration saying, "This isn't the end of our narrative. Rather, it is the beginning of a new chapter."
